Recycling is mandatory in Cecil County. The Town offers single stream curbside recycling to its residents every Monday. Residents must provide their own returnable recycling receptacle marked “Recyclables” and have it at the curb when the Town’s contractor comes to collect in the morning. In the event that a regular collection day falls on the following holidays, collection will occur on the following business day: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
The Cecil County Landfill will not accept plastic bags, frozen food boxes, or shredded paper. If you have any questions regarding acceptable recyclables please direct them to Cecil County Solid Waste Management Division. For additional information you can visit their website at www.ccrecycling.org.
The Town’s recycling contractor will reject any curbside recycling that the Cecil County Landfill will not accept at their recycling center. If you have any questions about the changes please direct them to Cecil County Landfill.
