COASTAL COMMUNITY FLOOD RISK OPEN HOUSE
November 17, 2014

 An open house will be conducted March 4, 2015, to provide an opportunity for residents and property owners in Cecil County to review updates to the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps and FEMA's Model Ordinance.   

The Open House will be conducted in the Emergency Operations Center, Department of Emergency Services Building, 107  Chesapeake Boulevard, Suite 108, Elkton, Maryland 21021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.   

To review a copy of the Town of North East Draft Flood Insurance Rate Map and Model Ordinance, please click on the Planning and Zoning tab of this website. NOTE: The Town is required to adopt the FEMA maps and Model Ordinance no later than April 22, 2015, with an effective date of May 4, 2015.

MD 272 Bridge Updates
October 21, 2013

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2014 on the bridge over the Amtrak railroad tracks in North East on MD 272. The new bridge will provide two lanes of traffic, wider shoulders and sidewalks to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The project will take up to two years to complete, but the construction will be phased such that two lanes of traffic are maintained through most of the project. Click here for more details.

The Town of North East Water Treatment Plants is optimally fluoridating water since August 6, 2009. Adults and children who receive their water from these water treatment plants and who are taking prescription fluoride supplementation should contact their dentist or physician concerning continuation of the fluoride supplementation.
