Incident Update: This morning, a small fire broke out on the roof of North East Town Hall after a tar bucket ignited, spreading flames to nearby tar paper. Fortunately, the fire was quickly contained, and no structural damage occurred to Town Hall or surrounding properties.
The Town of North East extends its heartfelt gratitude to the North East Fire Company and Charlestown Fire Company for their swift and heroic response, ensuring the fire was promptly extinguished. We also thank the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun and the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton for their readiness to assist, along with Deputy Fire Marshal Savage and the Cecil County Emergency Services Dispatch staff for their critical coordination efforts.
A special thank you to the vigilant North East citizens who promptly notified Town personnel and called in the fire, enabling a quick response from the start. We are also deeply grateful to the entire community for their support and concern throughout the incident.

Town Hall will resume normal business hours on Monday, November 4th.
