The Town of North East will be conducting semi-annual fire hydrant flushing on Sunday, October 18, 2022, through Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. each day. Periodic fire hydrant flushing is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the fire hydrants and to purge the water distribution system of sediment. Residents may experience some decrease in water pressure, as well as possible degradation of water clarity during or shortly after this maintenance program. However, if you observe sediment in your system, residents are advised to run the bathtub spigot until the water clears. Questions regarding this important maintenance program should be directed to the Water Department at (410) 287-8102 Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
