Payment is due 30 days after the mailing date. Mailing and due dates used are approximate and may vary due to weather conditions during meter reading. If you fail to receive a water bill by the 20th of the mailing date shown above, please contact our office immediately ( Ph 410-287-5801, Fax 410-287-8267).
- Final Notice - Final notices are mailed four working days after the original due date. Payment is due five working days after issuance of the final notice.
- Service Charge - A reconnection fee of $100.00 is assessed to all accounts where payment has not been received in the Town Hall as of 4:30 P.M. on the Final Due Date.
- Water Termination - Meters will be turned off for all unpaid accounts after the final due date. The reconnection fee applies whether or not the Town has physically disconnected the water supply (Code of Ordinances Section 7-502 - Penalties for Overdue Water Rent).
- Water Restoration - Account must be paid in full and payment must be received in the office no later than 2:00 P.M. in order for water to be restored that same day.
- Town Hall Office Hours - The Town Hall will accept payments Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Payments after office hours may be made through the mail slot located in front of Town Hall, 106 S. Main Street. However, payment received in the mail slot after 4:30 P.M. will be considered as a payment made the following business day. Please note: Payments made after 4:30 P.M. on the final due date will be considered as payment made the following business day.
- Returned Checks - A returned check fee of $30 and any applicable late fees as of the date the check is received in the office will be assessed to the account.
Sewer rates are established by the Board of County Commissioners, and are billed and collected by the Cecil County Treasurer's Office. The Town of North East, MD provides the water rates and readings to assist in calculating the bills.
