The North East Maintenance Department’s responsibility is to maintain the appearance of the Town’s public areas. The department is directly responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the streets, sidewalks, storm drains, signage, parks, buildings, recreational area and equipment, vehicles, equipment and solid waste services. Grass cutting and preserving the grounds including landscaping requires a large portion of their time in the summer. Fall and winter include yard waste and snow removal. The department also has a bulk pick up program to help promote property owners in maintaining their own property. The department works very closely with many civic organizations and always participates to the extent possible in assisting them with their events to help promote the Town. The department was very instrumental in getting the current recycling program organized and implemented for North East. The members of the department take a tremendous amount of pride in making the town be a beautiful place to work, live and visit.
