Town Board Meetings

Town Board Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Meetings begin at 7:00 PM at the North East Town Hall Meeting Room, located at 106 S. Main Street. Anyone wishing to be placed on the agenda will need to call 410-287-5801 by noon the Friday preceding a town meeting.

Special Events

Recycling

Recycling is available for area residents at the Cecil County Landfill, Old Philadelphia Rd., Rt. 7, North East, MD. Open Monday - Saturday 7:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.. For more information call 4l0-996-6275.

Voter Registration

Town residents who wish to register to vote may do so with the Cecil County Board of Supervisors of Elections by calling 410-996-5311 or by visiting the Town Hall.

Elections

Town elections are held the second Monday in February each year. Two commissioners are elected in even numbered years and a mayor and two commissioners are elected in odd numbered years. Terms are two years. The Town Election is held from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Elections are held at the North East Town Hall, 106 S. Main Street.

Town residents may register with the Cecil County Board of Supervisors of Elections or at Town Hall.

Qualifications of Mayor

The Mayor shall be at least twenty-one years of age, must have resided in the Town for at least one year immediately preceding election and must be a qualified voter of the Town. The Mayor shall maintain a permanent residence in the Town during the term of office.

Commissioners shall be at least twenty-one years of age, shall have resided in the Town for at least one year immediately preceding their election, and shall be qualified voters of the Town of North East. They shall maintain a permanent residence in the Town during their term of office.
